  • Familiarization with Student Training Manual, Handbook of Maintenance Instruction, Illustrated Parts Catalog, Service Notices, Bulletins and Letters, and Publications Index.
  • Malfunction Information Report: usage for warranty, repair, and malfunction information.
  • Theory of rotorcraft aerodynamics.
Day 2 - Classroom Instruction
  • Airframe structure; Canopy assembly, cabin and seat structure assembly, center frame, tail boom assembly, and horizontal and vertical stabilizer assemblies.
  • Inspection and repairs to airframe structure.
  • Power train familiarization; assembly construction, required inspections, and servicing.
Day 2 - Shop Exercise
  • Belt drive system; removal, disassembly, inspection, servicing, reassembly, and installation.
Day 3 - Classroom Instruction
  • Main rotor transmission; internal design, periodic inspections, limited repairs, and servicing.
  • Tail rotor transmission; internal design, periodic inspections, limited repairs, and servicing.
  • Tail rotor assembly; periodic inspection, removal and installation, shimming procedures, and repair limitations.
Day 3 - Shop Exercise
  • Belt drive system; continue maintenance procedures.
  • Tail rotor system removal and installation.
Day 4 - Classroom Instruction
  • Main rotor system design familiarization.
  • Main rotor blade; periodic inspections, removal and installation, and limited repairs.
  • Pitch housing; periodic inspections, removal, disassembly, inspection, servicing, and limited repairs.
  • Main rotor hub; removal, disassembly, inspection, limited repairs, reassembly, and servicing.
  • Main rotor swashplate assembly; periodic inspections, removal disassembly, limited repairs, reassembly, and servicing.
  • Main rotor drive shaft; removal, inspection, servicing, and limited repairs.
Day 4 - Shop Exercise
  • Main rotor system; disassembly and removal of rotor system, swashplate assembly, and main rotor drive shaft.
Day 5 - Classroom Instruction
  • Review of first week's subjects.
  • Written examination.
Day 5 - Shop Exercise
  • Disassembly of main rotor pitch housing.
  • Periodic inspections and servicing of rotor system parts.
  • Reassembly and installation of rotor system.
Day 6 - Classroom Instruction
  • Flight controls familiarization; inspection, servicing, and adjustments.
  • Main rotor controls; rigging longitudinal and lateral cyclic control.
  • Tail rotor controls; rigging adjustments.
Day 6 - Shop Exercise
  • Rigging main rotor control system.
  • Rigging tail rotor control assembly.
  • Factory tour.
Day 7 - Classroom Instruction
  • Installation and usage of track and balance equipment.
  • Main rotor track procedures.
  • Main rotor balance procedures; sweep balance and tip weight balance, vibration troubleshooting.
  • Tail rotor balance procedures; vibration troubleshooting.
  • Power plant installation; overview of Lycoming HIO-360-D1A engine, troubleshooting, periodic inspection, and repairs.
  • Fuel system installation; periodic inspection and repairs.
Day 7 - Shop Exercise
  • Fuel system installation; periodic inspection and repairs.
  • Tail rotor balance.
Day 8 - Classroom Instruction
  • Engine air cooling system; inspection, adjustments, and repairs.
  • Engine oil cooling system; inspection, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Fuel servo; troubleshooting, inspection, and adjustment.
  • Engine controls; troubleshooting, repairs, and rigging adjustments.
  • Landing gear system; inspection, maintenance, and repairs.
Day 8 - Shop Exercise
  • Rig engine controls.
Day 9 - Classroom Instruction
  • Electrical system; Buss bar and equipment location, schematic drawings.
  • Alternator control circuit; adjustment, troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Cyclic trim system; operation, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Clutch actuator control; operation, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Starter and start electrical circuit; troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Bendix magneto; inspection, point replacement, and internal timing.
  • Slick magneto; inspection, point replacement, and internal timing.
Day 9 - Shop Exercise
  • Disassemble and reassemble landing dampers.
Day 10 - Classroom Instruction
  • Battery Maintenance.
  • Review of second week's subjects.
  • Written examination.
  • Procedures/information unique to Model 269C-1 (300CBi) helicopter.
