Helicopter Maintenance/Transmissions Overhaul Training School

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:

269C/269C-1 Maintenance Requirements:
     1. FAA Cert Mechanic/Comparable Foreign Cert/Comparable Repairman.
         (This requirement will be waived for heads of flight departments or owner/operators.)

269D Maintenance Requirements:
     1. FAA Cert Mechanic/Comparable Foreign Cert/Comparable Repairman.
         (This requirement will be waived for heads of flight departments or owner/operators.)
     2. Student must have previously attended Hughes/Schweizer 269C Maintenance Training Course.

269 Series Transmissions Overhaul Requirements:
     1. FAA Cert Mechanic/Comparable Foreign Cert/Comparable Repairman.
     2. Proficiency in use of Precision Measuring Instruments such as Micrometers, Vernier Callipers, Height
         Gages and Non-Destructive Test Inspection.



  • Class size is limited - make reservations early.

  • Minimum class size is 6 for all classes. Maximum for any class is 12 students. Classes will only be held if the minimum number of students is signed up to attend.

  • Course fees must be paid in full at time of registration in order to confirm a student's place in a class. Application form should accompany payment. Payment can be made by means of a check made payable to Schweizer Aircraft, credit card (VISA or Master Card), or bank wire transfer. All money must be in U.S. dollars and checks must be on U.S. banks. Tuition fees are subject to change without notice.

  • Enrollment can be made by mail, phone, facsimile, or e-mail. Phone reservations must be followed by the completed "Registration Application" within a 2-week period.

  • All fees are non-refundable unless cancellation notice is received in writing 45 days prior to the first day of class. No refunds will be made for partial attendance in course. If a class is cancelled by Schweizer Aircraft, tuition fees will be held for the next class of your choice within 12 months; or can be returned upon request. Schweizer Aircraft is not responsible for any other costs incurred by the registrant and associated with the cancellation by Schweizer of a class.

  • Confirmation of attendance is done by phone, fax, or e-mail 4-6 weeks prior to start of course.

  • It is recommended that actual cash, money orders, travelers checks, or cashier's check be issued to students attending school for activities other than course fee. Students are responsible for their own lodging, meals and transportation, unless prior arrangements have been made. It is suggested that motel reservations be made early as space in Elmira can be limited.

  • An area map is enclosed to assist students in locating school as well as local hotels and restaurants.

  • For those arriving at the Elmira-Corning Regional Airport, rental cars and taxi service are available at the airport. Some local motels have courtesy vans.

  • A training certificate will be issued verifying attendance.

  • All courses run from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day, with the exception of the day of completion when most classes are concluded @ 12:00 noon. Exact class hours will be set by your instructor.

  • Students who travel from overseas (8 hours plus) should plan to arrive at least one full day prior to the start of class in order to become acclimated to the area.
