The MQ-8B Fire Scout Vertical Takeoff and Landing Unmanned Air Vehicle System (VTUAV) provides unprecedented situational awareness, precision targeting support for the U.S Navy of the future and fulfills the US Army’s Class IV UAV requirements. It has the ability to autonomously take off and land from any aviation capable warship and at unprepared landing zones.
Schweizer Aircraft is responsible for the design and manufacture of the airframe and dynamic system of the MQ-8B. The Fire Scout's dynamic system is derived from the Model 333 turbine helicopter. These components have been proven by over 20 million flight hours.
